Summer Reading

If you are looking for so Delicious books to read this summer here are a few I just could not put down.


The Forgotten Garden
"
This is a magical book, that is part fairy tale part mystery novel. It takes place in the English countryside at the beginning of the 20Th century, but also switches back to current times.It has everything that a novel needs, a secret garden,a evil aunt, a forbidden friendship and love, and a character refereed to as "The Authoress". The Book is by Kate Morton and can be found at Amazon.

The Help


I am actually reading this book for the second time, it takes place in Jackson Mississippi in the 1960s during the Civil Rights movement. It centers around the African American maids of White families.Eugenia Skeeter Phelan is a young women from a wealthy family just returned from college and wants to become a writer. She begins to befriend two maids Aibileen, and Minny and starts to collect the stories of the maids and publishes them in a book called "Help" which makes all kinds of trouble.

At Home in Mitford, or any of the Mitford Books

These books are wonderful and heartwarming. A center around an older Priest,his dog, his neighbor that he later marries and a whole town full of wonderful characters.It is full of wonderful stories of Christ like actions, and i just get a happy feeling reading all of them.

So please pick up a good book and read.
