Why We Love The OC

(Newport Beach on Easter)

I totally meant to do this post about 2 months ago so it's a little late, but better late then never. We have been living in Orange County for almost 9 months folks and while there a are a few things that we miss from Fresno (our family and friends) we are loving life here ! Here is the list of things that we LOVE about living in Orange County.

1) The weather! It really is amazing, during the winter I missed the fog a tiny bit. And it is a tad more humid here. But on a whole it is usually between 60-70 degrees and it is beautiful. The land is green and lush, lately we have been getting a lot of rain at night which is awesome.

2) The people. We have been so blessed to make such wonderful friends here. Many of the people in our ward are young couples like us, who are transplants like us, it has been so great to be able to meet so many different people. The family that we do have down here is awesome, as well as the new Disney family that I have created as well.

3)Ocean- enough said. We do not go to the beach every week or even every month, but it is so beautiful when we do go.

4) Food and Things to do: The nice thing about living in a metropolis is that there is always something to do. We love to go to the farmers market, and when we can afford it check out good food places.

5) Albertsons: I like this grocery store.

6) Frozen Yogurt: There is a ton of it down here.

7) Health: Kurtis and I have noticed that we have been healthier this year, I did not have my winter death which I usually get. We have decided that it is because the air is slightly better here then it is in Fresno.

8) Disneyland

There are lots of things that we miss about Fresno, Our moms, Volleyball Thursdays, Brothers and Sisters -in-Law, cute nephews and necies who seem to have doubled in size every time we see them. Roger Rocka's and my box office people, Me-n-ed's and Charlotte's bakery. Not having to worry about traffic, and cheaper rent!

Easter Sunday

He is risen!

Happy Easter!

I've been thinking a lot about Easter and the significance of this Holiday. For me it is so overwhelming to think that Christ Died for me, he suffered all of my sins, all of my pain and grief.Every tear that I have cried, he has as well. I am so grateful for my Savior and for his resurrection and the way that it blesses the lives of myself and my family everyday.

Okay on to the fun stuff!

I got to sing today in church with our awesome choir and hangout with my cutie pie nursery kids, I love them all so much they are such a fun bunch.

We also headed up to Costa Mesa today to spend time with family, we took a walk on the beach and took pictures with

MY NEW CAMERA!
It has been almost two years since our camera broke we have been wanting one for so long but did not have the money to get one. Kurtis got a $100 gift card for using Lexis Nexis and used that to buy me this little beauty. This also counts as my Christmas present from last Christmas because we were to poor for presents and my Valentines Day because we spent Valentines Day on a plane!

Thanks Baby your the best!

It was like camping but better

Can you believe that we have lived near the beach for almost six months now and have not had a beach bonfire?!

Well we crossed that one off of our list. Kurtis goes to school with an awesome guy named Brandon who lives in Newport Beach with his awesome wife Courtney and their two kiddo's. We drove down to there place last night for some yummy food and fun times before the boys head back to school.

We had everything that one needed for an awesome bonfire, smores blankets, flashlights and an empty beach to ourselves and a dumpster full of firewood (so glad the neighboors were working on their $19 million house)

Someday when I'm rich I want to live in Newport Beach right along the ocean. Don't worry I'll make sure to get an awesome guestroom.

The only thing that we forgot was a camera so I stole this picture from google

Audrey Meets The Beach

We have been talking about taking Audrey to the dog beach in Huntington, and today we finally made it. It was so cool to see all of the dogs running into the waves and "body surfing" and just generally having a great time.

For some reason I thought Audrey would just love it. But not so much. She liked the sand, and the other dogs. But she was freaked out by the water. Kurtis and I managed to get her in twice and once she realized that the huge waves coming at her were just water she was fine.

Am I a bad dog parent for trying to force her in?

I also normally don't have crazy person hair, but it was windy!
