Take me out to the Ball Game

Last Monday my dear friend Megan and I hit up Angels Stadium for a fun day of baseball. The Angel's were playing one of Kurtis's favorite teams the Oakland A's. It was my first time at a major league game and we had a great time.

Trying to be better

I have been trying to be better about blogging. But, it seems that when I get home from work I am either to tired, or have nothing to say.Recently Kurtis and I went to the Barristers Ball which was a ton of fun. It was at Disney's Grand California Hotel this year which was amazing.

It's April which means that it is softball season again. The awesome people that I have been working with on the Our California Story project  formed a team. We have had two games so far, and we talk and eat more then we win. But we have a ton of fun.
Me and my girls Lauren and Megan.

I even managed to hit a ball!

His and Her day out

Today Kurtis and I went our separate ways for a girl and boys day out.

I went with some of my closest girl friends to the Ellen show it was so much fun and I danced my heart out! After the show the girls and I went out to this yummy place and got some great bratwurst. This is us waiting in line to go in I am the only one not holding up my number!

Kurtis on the other hand met up with two of his mission companions and spent the day at Disneyland. In between all of the rides there was lots of talking about the mission, the ladies in their lives and future jobs. A good time was had by all let's do it again soon ladies and gents!

Snips and Snails

Are you having a boy child?

So many of my friends are expecting babies this spring/summer I decided that I had better get working on some baby shower gifts.

So you might be getting this

or this

or this

or even this little cute number , perfect for church.

you will just have to wait and see, also I have to say that all of this sewing would not have been possible with out Aubree, Angie, Shonee, Sarah, and my Mom. And of course all of those ladies that are cooking little boy children in their ovens.

"Calling All Angels" 2

This year one of my goals is to do more service. If you feel like this is a goal of yours as well, or if you just like to do good things please check out this video below.

Neal and Angie are a wonderful couple from our ward, and Angie is my VT companion as well. They are doing this project Calling all Angels to honor the memory of their son Jayden.

I am so excited to help Neal and Angie! And you should be to, I know that if we serve others we will receive blessings in return

"The Savior taught His disciples, 'For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it' (Luke 9:24).

"I believe the Savior is telling us that unless we lose ourselves in service to others, there is little purpose to our own lives. Those who live only for themselves eventually shrivel up and figuratively lose their lives, while those who lose themselves in service to others grow and flourish—and in effect save their lives."- President Thomas S. Monson

It was like camping but better

Can you believe that we have lived near the beach for almost six months now and have not had a beach bonfire?!

Well we crossed that one off of our list. Kurtis goes to school with an awesome guy named Brandon who lives in Newport Beach with his awesome wife Courtney and their two kiddo's. We drove down to there place last night for some yummy food and fun times before the boys head back to school.

We had everything that one needed for an awesome bonfire, smores blankets, flashlights and an empty beach to ourselves and a dumpster full of firewood (so glad the neighboors were working on their $19 million house)

Someday when I'm rich I want to live in Newport Beach right along the ocean. Don't worry I'll make sure to get an awesome guestroom.

The only thing that we forgot was a camera so I stole this picture from google

Talking turkey

We made a quick trip home for the Thanksgiving holiday. We almost didn't make it, Kurtis took a wrong turn and we almost ended up in Vegas (which would have been fun to.) But we did make it home.

Thursday morning my mama and I went for bagels and made cookies and K. played volleyball with his brothers and friends. We then headed over to Keith and Terri's house (also known as K1) where we had amazing food and I got to hang out with my cutie pie nephews Kaden and Kolten (K's 5 &6)

We ate, the girls went to see Tangled which was a lot of fun. We even did a little black Friday shopping. Unfortunately we were only there for about 48 hours so we did not get to see everyone (no cuddles from the super nieces Elle and Teagan ) and I didn't get to stop by the box office and hang out.

But I did get lots of cuddles with my newest nephew Baby Micha who is the sweet baby boy of my good friends Liz and Mitch, luckily this little guy is coming to visit me next week. I am so excited.

Disneyland With the Girls

Last week my friend Nicole came to visit from Fresno, she brought her friend Annika who is from Germany, and her friend Ashley. We had a great time doing all of the things that friends do and it was fun to introduce Annika to Disneyland. Her favorite ride was Indiana Jones. We also had a lot of fun on Splash Mountain... She got really wet, we told her a little white lie and said it was best to sit in the front.

It's Halloween

Happy Halloween one day late!

Kurtis and I had a blast at the ward Halloween party. We eat chili and corn bread and baked potatoes, we also hung out with some really cool people. We even saw Elin Woods, Tiger and some garden gnomes. I wish I had more pictures, but I don't. So I just stole this one from Stephanie a.k.a Elin Woods. I went as Rosie the Riveter complete with the "We can do it" tattoo on my bicep. Kurtis went as himself.

I had to work Halloween night (boo) but it was a celebrity filled night, Adam Sandler ran into my friend Katie with a stroller and some people spotted Kobe Bryant while I was on my break. I always seem to just miss them.

Walk to Remember

This last Saturday, Angie, Erin, Julia, Shonee and I got together to participate in Orange County's walk to Remember.

The walk to remember is a walk that supports infant and pregnancy loss, with all of the proceeds going to local hospitals. However, we we're their to support our beautiful friend Angie and walk in honor of her sweet angel Jayden.

I am so grateful for my wonderful friends, and for Angie who is so kind and so strong. It was an honor to walk with her and the girls in memory of her little boy.

P.S. Don't you love the picture at the top...The girls all look like super models, and I need to work on my picture smile. I really wish I was more photogenic.
